How do you start your day? What things do you do to begin working? When do you transition from work to other areas of life? Rituals are habits and practices that help you transition from one area of life to another. They also help create boundaries with your time and prevent you from getting “stuck”
As much as we may want to say “yes,” every “yes” is an automatic “no” to someone else. Rather than being overwhelmed and allowing every urgent deadline to determine what you do, practice saying “no” ahead of time. Although my four-year old daughter is great at saying “no,” this is something I continue to practice.
